Dr. Joseph Geng Akech Geng is the Minister of Youth and Sports in the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity, Republic of South Sudan. He is a human rights and constitutional lawyer and a researcher in constitutional designs, human rights, and transitional justice. He holds a Doctor of Laws in comparative constitutional law from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He has published widely on constitutionalism, governance and peacebuilding in South Sudan and Africa. Dr. Akech is a member of African Network of Constitutional Lawyers and an adjunct assistant professor of law at the University of Juba.

Dr Garang Yach James is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Politics, Strategic and Security Studies. He teaches graduate and undergraduate classes at the University of Juba, Department of Political Science. Besides teaching, Dr Yach also supervises and mentors master students. Dr Yach holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science from the University of Juba-South Sudan (2023), specialising in Security and Strategic Studies. He also has a Master of Science in Security Sector Management from Cranfield University, UK Defence Academy (2015), a Master of Arts in Political Philosophy from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Nairobi, Kenya (2011), and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Pontificia Urbaniana University in Rome (2005). Dr. Yach has extensive professional experience in both the private and public sectors in South Sudan. Before joining the United Nations, where he currently serves as an Associate Political Affairs Officer, Dr. Yach worked for the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs as a civil servant, eventually becoming the Director of Policy Planning and Development (2011-2015) He also became the Country Representative for the Arkangelo Ali Association-International (AAA) after leaving the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs. He worked for the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), among others.

Peter Garang Geng is a Lecturer and Head of Research & Publication Department at the School of Law, University of Juba. He holds an LLM (First Class with Honors) in international law, with concentration on human rights law from Sharda University, India, LLB(Hons) University of Juba, South Sudan, Legal Practice (South Sudan Bar Course). Garang is currently pursuing an LLM in Oil and Gas Law from the Institute of Petroleum Studies, Uganda. He is currently a Legal Advisor at Nile Drilling & Services Co. Ltd, the nation’s premier drilling and gas company. A member of South Sudan Bar Association, Garang is an Advocate of High Court of South Sudan and practice law with Kush Advocates & Solicitors based in Juba, South Sudan. He is also an experienced humanitarian worker, with over 6 years of hands-on experience in humanitarian services delivery across South Sudan. His other professional experiences include legal researches and consultancies. He has published number of scholarly and policy articles with reputable national and international publishers.

Peter Mwayi is a researcher, journalist, media consultant and communications strategist with more than 15 years’ experience in advising leaders, entrepreneurs, and organizations as well as departments of the Government of Uganda and the ruling NRM party in Uganda on various hearts and minds campaigns, ensuring desired results in all. His expertise in media relations and reputation management, including in the international space has set him apart in delivering campaigns that work. He has a deep understanding of Africa and the dynamics around East Africa and what people in the region respond to. This combined with a passion for storytelling, helps in amplifying voices of those that need to be heard. He is responsible for the successful implementation of ACCRPB’s programs. He coordinates program activities, manage budgets, and ensures alignment with project goals. He also liaises with external partners, donors, and relevant stakeholders. He works hand in hand with the Board to oversee the day-to-day operations, manage staff, and ensure alignment with the Center’s mission and goals.
